EDSA was fill of Filipino during People Power

Filipino expressing their victory

One of the biggest history happen in the Philippines that out bust the dictatorship of Marcos was happen in 1986. The Filipinos make a world history by showing the world the Filipinos can be united and willing to give their life for the native land.
The People Power Revolution (also known as the EDSA Revolution and the Philippine Revolution of 1986) was a series of nonviolent and prayerful mass street demonstrations in the Philippines that occurred in 1986. It is sometimes referred to as the Yellow Revolution due to the presence of yellow ribbons during the arrival of Ninoy Aquino. These protests were the culmination of a long resistance by the people against the 20-year running authoritarian regime of then president Ferdinand Marcos and made news headlines as "the revolution that surprised the world". The majority of the demonstrations took place at Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, known more commonly by its acronym EDSA, in Quezon City, Metropolitan Manila and involved over 200,000 Filipino civilians as well as several political, military, and religious figures, such as Jaime Cardinal Sin. The protests, fueled by a resistance and opposition of years of corrupt governance by Marcos, occurred from February 22 to 25 in 1986, when Marcos fled MalacaƱang Palace to the United States and conceded to Corazon Aquino as President of the Philippines.
Now a days the EDSA became a place for people power to express their protest to the Government. People power 1 and People power 2 became succesfully outbust the president of the Philippines.
This event was simply show us the we Filipino people can be better if only united. Set aside our conflict and have the common goal for the country.
Filipino we can do it!!!!!!

Philippine Tarsier (Tarsius Syrichta )

Did you know that this cute tiny animal can be only found in the Philippines. One of the tourist attraction in Bohol (one of the province in Visaya Philippines). The tour in Bohol will not be completed if you miss to see the cutie cutie tiny winnie tarsier.

A cute tiny animal you can only found in our own land,Philippines with measuring about 4 to 6 inches (15 cm) in height. The small size makes it difficult to spot. The average mass for males is around 134 grams, and for females, around 117 grams. The average adult is about the size of a human fist and will fit very comfortably in the human hand.

It is locally known as "Maumag" a Cebuano/ Visayan local name of Tarsier is now an endangered endemic to the Philippines archipelago. The Philippine Tarsier has thick and silky fur which is colored gray to dark brown. The thin tail, usually used for balance, is naked or bald except for a tuft of hair at the end, and is about twice the body length. Its elongated "tarsus," or ankle bone, which gives the tarsier its name, allows it to jump at least three meters from tree to tree without having to touch the ground.

The Philippine Tarsier has been called "the world's smallest monkey" or "smallest primate" by locals before. However, the Philippine Tarsier is neither a monkey nor the smallest primate. It is related to other primates, including monkeys, lemurs, gorillas and humans but it occupies a small evolutionary branch between the strepsirrhine prosimians, and the haplorrhine simians. While it is a prosimian, and used to be grouped with the rest of the prosimians, it has some phylogenetic features that caused scientists to classify it as a haplorrhine and, therefore, more closely related to apes and monkeys than to the other prosimians.

I was looking for the one of the best Filipino to feature in my blog when I remeber our own finest bowler Paeng Nepomuceno. As I search the internet one article from inquirer features Sir Rafael "Paeng " Nepomuceno.

Paeng made it to the Guiness World Record for the third timeafter clinching hi 118th career championship late last year, making him the holder of most number of tenpin bowling titles.

The six time world champion topped Melbourne's South Pacific Classic last on Sept.18, 2007 beating World Tenpin Masters Champion Jason Belmonte for his 118th crown.

The win in Melbourne also earned the 51-year-old southpaw the title Order of Lakandula with the special class of Champion for Life from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

It was Nepomuceno’s third presidential award after the Presidential Medal of Merit conferred by the late President Ferdinand Marcos in 1984 and the Philippine Legion of Honor given by former President Joseph Estrada in 1999. Sabong (Cock Fighting)

One of the old tradition and hobby of Filipino are so called "Sabong". Two cock are fighting for their lives while people watching them are having some fun and bet who will gonna the fight. Some of the term you will here from this event are :
"Kristo"- the person who communicate to fix the bet and which cock they think will win.
"Tari"- the blade or weapon of each cock put in their feet to destroy the oppponent.
"Wala"-the undercard cock is usually called wala
"Meron"-the cock who is more aggressive than the opponent.
Sabong was been known for its excitement and a trademark of being Filipinos. Now a days there are cities constructed a cockpit arena where some sabungeros can go to enjoy the sabong.
Some of rich Filipino who like sabong build their own farm where they train and breed the cock to prepare for a big time derby.
One made me amaze of this game is that the sabongeros are so honest when they loss in the bet, they throw their money to their fellow sabungero who win the bet.
